Nelson 151 celebrates The Twelve Days of Christmas each year by giving something back to our local community. Starting on December 25th and continuing through January 5th, each member chooses a day to give a portion of their proceeds to an organization in need.
For the 2013 Twelve Days of Christmas, our members will donate to the Nelson County Food Pantry, Blue Ridge Medical Center, Nelson County Relay for Life, Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue, and the American Cancer Society. Visit a member on their day to help benefit our local charities.
The Nelson County Food Pantry, a member of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, is a privately funded, non-profit organization and is operated entirely by volunteers and the generous contributions from many local churches, civic organizations, businesses and private individuals.
The Blue Ridge Medical Center is Nelson County’s Community Health Center, providing accessible, comprehensive, and affordable health care for everyone.
Relay for Life of Nelson County is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps.
Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue was founded in 2008 and is a foster based all-breed rescue located in Afton, Virginia.
The American Cancer Society is dedicated to helping persons who face cancer. Supporting research, patient services, early detection, treatment and education.
